Haute-Corse can be enjoyed all year round, but each season offers a different experience: beaches and lively evenings in summer, hiking and villages in spring and autumn, peace and quiet in winter. Here is how to choose the period that suits you.
Spring: flowering nature and quiet villages
From April to June, the maquis is in bloom, the landscapes are green and temperatures are mild. It is the ideal season for hiking, visiting Bastia without the crowds and discovering the inland villages.
Swimming becomes pleasant from late spring. The swimming pool at Hôtel Résidence A Torra opens on 1 May.
Summer: beaches, sunshine and atmosphere
In July and August, Corsica lives at the pace of high season: long days, warm sea, village festivals and lively terraces. It is the perfect time to enjoy the beaches of the east coast and Cap Corse.
It is also the busiest period: book your accommodation early, go on excursions in the morning and enjoy the pool during the hottest hours.
The late season: September and October
In September, the sea is still warm and the beaches empty out. Many travellers see the late season as the best balance between sunshine and tranquillity.
In early October, the days often remain mild. The residence’s swimming pool stays open until 15 October.
Autumn: the season of villages and chestnuts
From October, the Castagniccia and the Casinca take on autumn colours: it is chestnut season and the time for forest walks. A lovely period to discover the most beautiful villages in Haute-Corse.
Winter: Corsica at its quietest
